Forty years ago, WCL launched its International Legal Studies Program to prepare lawyers for the complex realities of working across borders. Since then, the program has trained more than 4,500 lawyers from 60 countries in areas including international commercial arbitration, international business and trade, human rights law, and intellectual property law. This powerful and tight-knit judiciary gave rise to a systematised process of developing common law. Socialist law is the legal systems in communist states such as the former Soviet Union and the People’s Republic of China.
