MILEstone, the porcelain tile brand under Florim USA, held its 2026 Sustainability Summit in Clarksville, Tennessee. The gathering brought together over 60 architects, designers, and industry professionals to its manufacturing facility for a two-day event on October 7–8. The focus centered on sustainable material practices, manufacturing advancements, and innovations influencing the built environment.
Participants engaged in expert-led presentations, interactive discussions, and factory tours. Sessions addressed responsible material sourcing, lifecycle sustainability, and creating healthier indoor environments. Demonstrations showcased large-format porcelain panels, outdoor pavers, and countertop systems, all highlighting precision and design adaptability.
The program offered AIA and IDCEC continuing education credits, reinforcing the event’s emphasis on practical learning. One session tackled installation challenges for large-format porcelain panels, while another examined outdoor applications and new material trends.
Attendees provided direct feedback on client expectations, material difficulties, and shifting design requirements. This input will guide future product development, educational programs, and resources for the design community.
Rodolfo Panisi, president and CEO of Florim USA, said sustainability leadership requires more than product innovation and improving manufacturing. It also means listening, sharing knowledge, and understanding what the design community needs to move forward. The summit’s collaborative approach sought to connect manufacturers, designers, and end-users to promote sustainable building practices.
Factory tours and live demonstrations featured MILEstone’s latest advancements, including Pre-Fab porcelain panels and L-Shaped countertop systems. These displays showed how precision manufacturing and design flexibility could minimize waste while broadening aesthetic options. The DAC Stories Collections, suitable for interior and exterior use, were also highlighted, illustrating how product versatility supports sustainability objectives.
