Vintage home deals designers love on Prime Day

Designers are snapping up vintage-style home deals during Prime Day, with a focus on pieces that add character without the antique price tag. A set of brass candlesticks is one standout, offering a simple way to bring warmth to a coffee table or mantel, according to designer Alex Iordanou.

For those who love the look of an aged rug but not the cost, the Oregon Collection Accent Rug delivers a distressed design at a fraction of the price. Thecla Glueck, a San Francisco-based designer, recommends low-pile options for high-traffic areas, citing their durability and ease of maintenance.

Ashley DeLapp highlights a block print lampshade in dark salmon as a quick upgrade for existing lighting. Patterned shades, she notes, are an easy way to refresh a room’s aesthetic without replacing fixtures.

Small accessories can make a big impact. Iordanou uses distressed gold compote vases to style shelves or kitchen islands, filling them with fruit for a pop of color. Meanwhile, Amy Peltier of Peltier Interiors favors striped hand towels for a preppy touch in bathrooms.

Mirrors are another designer favorite. Iordanou suggests the Arendahl Glam Arched Panel Mirror to reflect light and create the illusion of more space, especially when placed above a dresser. The Baroque-style piece comes in multiple sizes and finishes, all currently discounted.

In the kitchen, DeLapp recommends a non-slip washable runner with botanical motifs. The rug’s rubber backing keeps it in place, while its vintage-inspired pattern adds texture and history to the space.

Flower Oval Wall Art offers a subtle nod to old-world charm, according to Iordanou. Its small size makes it ideal for tight spaces like a powder bath, where it can serve as a focal point without overwhelming the room.

For functional lighting with a historical twist, Kira Young of High Tide Design turns to the Pharmacy Floor Lamp. Originally used by pharmacists for precision work, the adjustable lamp features a swivel head, 360° swing arms, and a dimmer, blending utility with timeless style.

Textiles play a key role in vintage-inspired decor. Peltier points to a throw pillow cover with floral detailing and a double-sided zipper for easy cleaning, calling it a perfect fit for an English country aesthetic.

Wooden accents, like a scalloped mango wood bowl, add organic texture to countertops or entryways. Peltier uses them as catchalls for everyday items, merging practicality with visual appeal.

Iordanou also favors the Mushroom Glass Table Lamp for its bold color and layered lighting potential. It’s a stylish addition to bookshelves or desks, offering ambient light alongside decorative flair.
